Workplace Injuries (WSIB)

First Care Centre is a proud Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) service provider. We make compassionate, patient-centered care available to individuals who have suffered workplace injuries. We collaborate with the employee, employer and WSIB to provide a smooth program of care.

Where to Start After a Workplace Injury?

It is crucial to report your workplace injuries to your employer as soon as they occur. Your employer will then fill out a Form 7 and submit it to WSIB for review. You, as an employee, must fill out a Form 6, to be submitted to WSIB, which includes more details about your injury and how it was caused. By submitting a Form 6 you are claiming benefits for a work-related injury. Ensure that you send in your completed forms as quickly as possible, as there is a six month window, from the date of accident, to claim benefits. Our team here at First Care Centre will gladly help you through this process.

How First Care Centre can help you

Once your paperwork has been reviewed by WSIB and a claim number has been assigned to your case, your journey to recovery with First Care Centre can begin. Your initial visit to First Care Centre will consist of an hour assessment with one of our highly qualified therapists. During this appointment, your therapist will assess your condition, develop a treatment plan to meet your specific needs and begin your therapy. Our therapists provide a variety of individualized therapeutic techniques to best treat your injury. Our goal at First Care Centre is to provide you with exceptional treatment to ensure a full recovery.

We aim to make this process as seamless as possible for you. We will handle all of the therapy fees with WSIB directly. Your therapist will be in constant contact with your adjudicator and nurse case manager to ensure that they are up to date with your progress so further decisions can be made in a timely manner.
